Public speaking
Voice, posture and structure. Students plan short speeches, deliver them on the clock and get specific feedback.
The KL Debate Bootcamp is a public speaking, critical thinking and debate camp for students aged 7 to 18. Small groups, hands-on from the first minute, in a safe space to speak up.
Early bird USD 380 until [EARLY-BIRD DEADLINE] · then USD 400
Around 2 in 10 people would do almost anything to avoid speaking in public. We start young, so speaking up feels normal long before it matters for exams, interviews and leadership.
Get to know KL DebateVoice, posture and structure. Students plan short speeches, deliver them on the clock and get specific feedback.
Building arguments, weighing evidence and spotting weak reasoning, including their own.
Taking a side, rebutting with respect and disagreeing well, in real practice debates with a motion and a timer.
No long lectures. Every session is built around students standing up, speaking and trying again, in a friendly, non-competitive room.
Practice in real speaking situations, not just theory.
Short, clocked rounds so students learn to think and speak under a little pressure.
The room votes on who persuaded them, so students see what actually works.
Every session ends with what went well and one thing to try next time.
All three days run from 9am to 5pm. Day 3 ends with a showcase debate and certificates. The same programme runs in every session.
Each session is a full three-day camp at TEDOH, Kuala Lumpur. Seats are limited to 30 per session.
From [EARLY-BIRD DEADLINE] until seats run out.
A former government adviser to two federal ministers, Luqman founded Kuala Lumpur Debate in 2024 as a non-profit dedicated to building critical thinking, effective communication and global awareness through the art of debate.
Under his lead, KL Debate has worked with youth organisations and non-profits, and run debate bootcamps for university and college students. This December, he brings that experience to school students aged 7 to 18.
“You don’t win a debate by suppressing discussion. You win it with a better argument.”

Honestly, no one becomes a great speaker overnight. What we promise is effective techniques, real confidence and a positive place to start, so every student leaves with a strong foundation to keep building on.
No. The bootcamp is open to every level, from first-time speakers to students who already debate at school.
